You’re Engaged! Cool. Now what?

You’re Engaged! Cool. Now what?

Congratulations! You did it. I know, it probably took a lot to set up the perfect proposal.

You should take a moment and breath…

Ok, time’s up.

It’s time to gear up for what is the new “most important moment of your life”.

If you’re feeling a bit confused about the whole process, don’t worry, that’s normal.

Weddings can not only be daunting, but there are many small details that can seem a bit overwhelming.

I mean, why are there 7 types of icing for a cake? WTF.

We know it can be a bit challenging, so we’ve put together some next steps for you.

It’s not exhaustive by any means, but something to ensure that you’re headed in the right direction.

#1 Invest in a Notebook and Pen

No really, get a notebook and pen, and then head to a local coffee shop with your glowing bride-to-be.

Now, put on your listening ears, and ask your lovelyfiancée what you can do to help.

Write it down the things that you can help with, and assign dates for yourself to either complete or follow-up with regarding each task.

This is the best wedding guide you could possibly find. Tailored specifically to your wedding.

And your fiancée will feel supported, which IS the most important part of this whole wedding thing.

Just make sure you actually do all the things you say you will do.Personal experience speaking here.

#2 Pick a Snazzy Suit

You need to look good for your wedding day, but this is not the type of event that your mom can dress you for.

While you’re at it, start thinking about what you want your groomsmen to wear. Are you all going to match? Or are you going to stand out in some way?

Jackets, what about vests? Ties, or bowties?

If it’s an outdoor wedding in July, maybe no jacket?

These are all things you can start working on early in the planning process and figure out relatively easily.

Do I hear easy win?

#3 Honeymoon

Although you will probably discuss this with your fiancée to some extent, you will probably still be in charge of planning the honeymoon.

Go ahead and start looking into what you want to do.

If you are planning to go international, make sure you check visas requirements, etc. And don’t forget the small things, like transportation from the airport to your accommodations.

Even if you have only figured out some of the details, don’t be afraid to go ahead and start booking.

The more that you can get done in advanced, the better off you’ll be. Trust me, when it comes to weddings, things WILL come up.

Also, if you have any friends that have gone on a similar trip, make sure to buy them a cup of coffee and get inside tips. This could seriously save your honeymoon.

#4 Groomsmen Gifts

Ok, so if you’re reading this blog, you’re already on the right track.

(Mostly because we have the best groomsmen gifts in the world, but more on that later.)

There are two main things you want to look for in a good groomsmen gift.

The first is quality.

There’s a lot of crap out there. Just saying.

These fellows are giving of their time and money to support you on your wedding day. Give them something that shows how grateful you are for what they’ve sacrificed to be your groomsmen.

Secondly, when trying to figure out what to get your groomsmen, remember - useful gifts are the best gifts.

Let’s be real, as cool as it is to receive an axe, unless your groomsmen live in the woods, when are they actually ever going to use that?

Here at Swanky Badger we offer quality men’s gifts, that are both swanky and practical.

And, you can even make your groomsmen feel extra special with the option to personalize their gift.

You’ll definitely be the coolest groom ever.

You’re welcome.
